School Holiday Activities - April 2018

With the school holidays now upon us and the rush of Easter over, it is time to plan your school holiday activities.

Tired of hearing “I’m bored MUM!” and “I’m bored DAD”? well here is a list of local events and activities to keep you and your kids entertained!

2018 Emerald Funfest

The 2018 Emerald Funfest is so full of entertainment, great food, rides and attractions that you won’t know where to head next. Spend the day wandering around Emerald, eating, laughing and having a great time with the family.

Location: Puffing Billy end of Emerald.


True Fairies Holiday Program

Be taken on a journey to a magical world, where you must believe it to see it!!

Drama and craft classes operate all day long. Become a pirate, mermaid or a fairy!

BYO lunch and snacks, all time will be supervised. Bookings required.

Date: All of April School Holidays

Time: 9am-5pm

Location: Japara Community House, Kilsyth


KaBloom Flower Festival

KaBloom is all about fabulous farm fields filled with hundreds of thousands of colourful flowers plus festival entertainment, fun activities and delicious foods. Get ready for a fantastic day out with friends and families – there is so much colour to enjoy.

Date: March 30th to April 15th

Time: 10am to 5pm daily

Location: Tesselaar Flower Farm 357 Monbulk Road, Silvan.


The Mad Hatter Magic Shows and Workshops

You’re invited to watch the amazing Mad Hatter Magician get up to mischief on stage with his mind boggling magic tricks. The Mad Hatter will also be revealing his secrets with free daily magic workshops for children. Come watch, learn and play with activities for children of all ages to enjoy.

Date: Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th April

Yarra Ranges Regional Museum

Explore the wonderful world of patterns, shapes and colours at our fabulous art making tables! Be inspired by the colourful array of textiles in Art Quilt Australia 2017, or investigate the explorer’s box in our Connections Gallery. Free entry. No bookings required.
Children under 9 must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Eastern Regional Library School Holiday Program

Activities include cooking, dinosaur discovery, crafting, dancing and animation workshops. See their website for more information.


Sky High Mount Dandenong

Every day during the school holidays there’s so much happening at SkyHigh to keep the kids amused. Meet animals up close, take part in treasure hunts, enjoy a pony ride, some music or mini golf. The fun activities and games change every day, so make sure you check the daily activities and times on their website.


Cardinia Cultural Centre

Cardinia Cultural Centre is located in Pakenham in Melbourne’s outer south east. It hosts some of the most sought-after productions, performances and artists touring Melbourne, as well as smaller community and amateur performances.  See link below for upcoming live shows, exhibitions and events being held at the centre. Book early to secure the best seating.


Robert Gordon Pottery

Paint Your Own Pottery – Have you made your booking for the school holidays yet? Come in and paint a pot these school holidays!
