Your behind the scenes look at the Westfield Knox transformation
We’re excited to share an update with you on the progress of the Westfield Knox transformation and announce the introduction of a new swim school that is set to open in 2023. The 25-meter swimming pool will offer swimming sessions, run by Aquatic Achievers for children up to 12 years old, will feature quality amenities and programs to service the local community.
This will complement the Knox Basketball Court, Knox Library, a multi-purpose community space as well as new and upgraded amenities throughout the centre.
We will also be introducing a range of new environmental sustainability initiatives, including a glass crushing system, a food waste composting system, smart bin-recycling technology, an on-site rainwater harvesting tank and a large rooftop solar system will be implemented to generate onsite renewable electricity.
As part of the redevelopment taking place throughout 2023, we will see further upgrades to centre ambience and the introduction of a new parking management system from next year. Complete with licence plate recognition and guidance technology, the new system will help ease congestion and make it quicker and easier for customers to find a park. The majority of customers will continue to park for free, with a free parking period of up to 3 hours available to all customers and up to 4 hours for Westfield Plus members. More details on the improved parking experience will be announced as the project progresses.
We will also see the relocation and complete refresh of the Westfield Knox food court along with a new family and homewares precinct. We look forward to sharing more, including confirmed retailers, soon.
